Do I need any fencing experience to join LUFC?

Not at all, we welcome newcomers to the club too. The only real requirement is that you are a registered student or staff member with the University of Liverpool although exceptions can and have been made so please enquire.

For beginners we run introductory sessions .If you would like to sign up to a beginners session please attend the fresher's fair at:

Do I need any fencing kit to join LUFC?

Nope, you don't even need to own any kit whatsoever. All that we ask is that when you attend training that you wear light leg wear, not shorts or jeans, and trainers. Kit can be rented weekly for training at £2.50.

How do I join LUFC?

You can join LUFC by attending Fresher’s Fair and signing up to the club at our stand. For beginners we will give you an induction session and for experienced fencers the time and date of the first training session.

Don’t worry if you cannot attend the fair. Should you still wish to join please contact our communications officer, whose details can be found in our ‘contact LUFC’ link above. Please inform him of your wish to join and just say if your new to fencing or if you have some previous experience and he will be happy to help.

How much does it cost to join LUFC?

For new fencers their introductory lesson is FREE!!! Though only University of Liverpool students and staff members can be members of the club. If you are looking for local clubs in the area then please check our links page to other local clubs

For a full academic year in the club it costs £30 which can be paid at the reception desk of The University of Liverpool Sports Centre.
